Effect of preparation method on microwave dielectric properties of 0.7CaTiO3–0.3SmAlO3 ceramic

2016
0.7CaTiO3–0.3SmAlO3 (CTSA) ceramics were prepared from CaTiO3 and SmAlO3, CaTiO3 were prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method and SmAlO3 were prepared by co-precipitation method. As expected, the sintering temperature of CTSA ceramics was reduced and the dielectric properties were improved when the SmAlO3 were prepared by co-precipitation. As the sintering temperature increased, the Q × f values were sharply increased and then decreased. The CTSA ceramics had low sintering temperature of 1410 °C and stable τ f value. Microwave dielectric properties of CTSA ceramics were: e r = 44.95, Q × f = 50,137 GHz, τ f = +7.6 ppm/°C, and the SmAlO3 powers were calcined at 900 °C for 3 h.
