Application effects of datalization management training and case assessment of nurse managers

Objective To analyze the application effects of datalization management training and case assessment of nurse managers. Methods Datalization management training and assessment for head nurses was done in a way of submitting plan at the beginning of the year, training during the year and assessing at the end of the year, with their datalization management abilities, scientific research consciousness and ward management compared before and after the training. Results The average case report score of 34 nurse manager who took part in datalization management training was (8.42±0.58) in 2013, which was higher than the score in 2012 (7.31±1.18). The difference of the score before and after the training was statistically significant (t=5.60, P<0.01). In 2013, the rate of adverse events in 34 wards was decreased by 26.9%. Compared with 2012, papers published in core journals of nurse managers increased by 25%. Conclusions Through datalization management training and case assessment, nurse managers are encouraged to manage the wards by data-driven thinking, to create an atmosphere of scientific management and to acquire application ability of scientific management tools. The ultimate goal of datalization management training and assessment achieved and is worth promoting. Key words: Nursing management research; Nurse manager; Datalization management; Case assessment
