for the present project. A first assess ment of the energy generation showed already that the levels given in previous studies had been too high. Thus, a technical review of the project has been launched, including a reservoir model developed to allow for irrigation requirements and environmental flow as well. The reservoir model uses monthly records from a 45-year series. Study of different scenarios for the project has yielded realistic value of energy generation and has at the same time enabled recommendations to be given for opti mising the project parameters.
