The invention discloses a regenerative auxiliary power test bench for a hybrid power special-purpose vehicle and a test method thereof and belongs to the technical field of hybrid electric vehicles. The test bench comprises a hybrid power special-purpose vehicle system and a control system. The hybrid power special-purpose vehicle system comprises a motor I, a coupler, a variable flywheel set, a sensor, a motor II, a lithium battery pack and a power supply cabinet. The control system comprises a motor I controller, a motor II controller, a torque acquisition module, a battery management system and a controllable AC/DC rectifier. All control parts are connected with a CAN bus. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the regeneration control strategy for the braking energy of hybrid electric vehicles can be verified while the actual power generation condition and the power consumption condition are simulated at the same time. The test bench is simple in structure and convenient to install, and has multiple test functions. The test bench can be used for testing various performances of hybrid power special-purpose vehicles.
