Effect of superheating on microstructure and wear resistance of high-entropy Al1.8CrCuFeNi2 alloy

2020
Abstract The experimental results indicate the superheating treatment has little effect on the phase structure, but has some effect on the phase amount and crystal structure. The XRD spectra of all samples show that the alloy is a body-centered cubic (BCC) solid solution phase with a typical uniform dendrite microstructure. It is found that superheating treatment has obvious effect on the hardness and wear resistance of the HEA. With the superheating temperature increasing, the hardness and wear resistance increases at first and then decreases, when the superheating temperature rises to T3 (the current rises to 480A), the hardness and wear resistance of the alloy are the highest.
