Impact of bamboo and castor composite catalytic converter on VCR diesel engine emission using Wheat germ oil

2021
Abstract Toxic gases embrace, CO, HC and Smoke that are harmful to the atmosphere additionally on the people. The main aim of this work is to fabricate system, wherever the amount of intensity of toxic gases is controlled through reaction to additional agreeable level. In this experimental investigation, the effect of catalytic convertor on emissions of Diesel engine has been studied. The test fuel used in this study was neat Wheat germ oil (WGO)–diesel blend. Wheat germ oil is a new alternate fuel used in VCR diesel engine. The emission results showed a significant reduction of NOx at the expense of increasing CO, O2 and HC emissions. By using these combinations, we can able get good results in we can able restrict the flue gases. The results showed that combination of catalytic converter and diesel Blends produced an surge in Brake thermal efficiency (BTE) and decrease in specific fuel consumption (BSFC). Graphene has catalyst exhibits a better result when combines exhaust gases in emission of CO and HC. The results are determined with and without catalytic converter and compared. And the results obtained are compared with each sample and best one suggested.
