Comparison of the accommodative parameters using two different correction methods in myopes

Objective To analyze the difference in the accommodative parameters of myopes when using spectacles and soft contact lenses (SCL) as the correction methods.Methods Thirty myopes,who had the experience of using SCL as the correction method,the parameters such as accommodation amplitude,accommodative facility,and accommodative response was measured after the distance refractive correction.Results The accommodation amplitude was significantly lower with the use of SCL in comparison to spectacles (P ＜0.01).Significantly higher monocular accommodation lag was found with the use of SCL in comparison to spectacles (P ＜0.01).When accommodative response were measured by MEM and FCC,the binocular accommodation lag was also higher when using SCL (P ＜0.05).Conclusions There is some difference in accommodative parameters when myopes are corrected by those two different correction methods.The accommodation lag is higher when using SCL.
