Geographical mapping of food outlets and foods and beverages advertised in Ghana

The aim of this study was to characterise the local foods and beverages sold and advertised in two deprived urban Ghanaian neighbourhoods. A cross-sectional observational study design was used to audit all food outlets (outlet type and food type sold) and food advertisements. Two deprived neighbourhoods in two cities in Ghana: Accra and Ho. Data available on: Types of foods and beverages sold and/or advertised in food outlets. A total of 413 food outlets or adverts were identified in Accra, 208 in Ho.
