Diferencias en los parámetros de carga externa entre el pádel masculino y femenino profesional

2021
The aim of this study was to analyze the differences in external training load between male and female professional padel. A total of 1042 points corresponding to 8 matches from 4 different tournaments of the official World Padel Tour 2019 were analyzed. The external load was evaluated through the analysis of temporal variables and game actions. Matches were analyzed through systematic observation. The results showed very similar time parameters in male and female categories, showing average point durations of approximately 13 seconds, and a percentage of real playing time of 30% of the total time. Regarding game actions, players made an average of approximately 10 strokes per point, although the number of strokes per second is significantly higher in men, which indicates a higher pace of play. Also, men make more winning points and fewer unforced errors than women. These findings may provide useful information for padel coaches in the design of training programmes.
