Disclosed controlling the loss of drilling fluid from a oliebrondsborehul in formations penetrated by a drill bit, during which the elastic grafitformede carbon particles having a D50 particle size between 10 microns and 2380 microns, a resiliency of greater than about 130% rebound after compression at 68,948 kPa (10,000 psi), a grafitiseringsgrad greater than 85% measured by D002 using XRD, an average pore size greater than 0,035 micrometers and an aspect ratio of the pores less than 0.63 fed to the drilling fluid.
