Co-Operatives in India

2015
One of the most effective and efficient tool for fighting against all odds is  togetherness; and especially in a country like India, where a large number of people are socio-economically backward, a sense of collective effort is desirable to enhance the livelihood of the marginalised. Forming CoOperatives is one of the most tested and trusted tool to bring the homogeneous people closer and to prosper together by confronting the challenges. Although not being anindigenous concept, and introduced by the British rulers, in India the co-operative movement has taken its shape in a positive direction. The collective approach for development is a boost to the direction towards socio-economic progress. This article tries to reflect a few perspectives of cooperatives in India and it also tries to find out the course of direction since its inception in this country.
