Investigation of the Occupational Hazards in the Industrial Enterprises of Fuzhou City

[Objective] To master the occupational hazards in the industrial enterprises of Fuzhou and provide scientific evidence for the establishment of prevention and control measures. [Methods]Occupational sanitary investigation was carried out in 163 industrial enterprises according to the National Sanitary Criteria; analysis was made on the implementation of the control measures. [Results] The organic solvents that exceeded the standard limit were toluene (16.66%), xylene (10.84%), acetone (6.45%), methyl ethyl ketone (2.82%) and trichloroethylene (16.66%), which widely existed in the workplaces of mucus brushing, painting and washing; the metal toxicants that exceeded the standard limit were MnO2(10.29%), lead (24.63%) and mercury (27.58%), which widely existed in the workplaces of welding, accumulator lead melting exposure and mercury exposure; 80.64% of silica dust exceeded the standard limit, which mainly existed in the stone industries; 34.81% of the noise exceeded the standard limit, which widely took place in all industries; 100% of high temperature exceeded the standard limit, which mainly existed in the workplaces of metalizing; the occupational health and safety management system was relatively sound in the foreign capital enterprises, large-scale enterprises and newly-built enterprises, but weak in other enterprises. [Conclusion]It is necessary to establish effective countermeasures like strengthening occupational sanitary management, improving occupational physical examination, increasing sanitary investment and enhancing health education and technical training.
