A cytochemical and autoradiographic study of nuclear DNA in mouse Purkinje cells

1973
Summary A cytophotometric study showed that the content of Feulgen DNA in Purkinje cell nuclei in mouse cerebellum exceeded the diploid level. The DNA content increased postnatally with an acceleration between days 11 and 25. However, no evidence was found for a level of DNA synthesis commensurate with that expected from the cytophotometric data after the administration of tritiated thymidine during the age period representative for the increase in Feulgen DNA.
