THE MECHANICAL AND OPTICAL-PROPERTIES OF TIN THIN-FILMS PRODUCED BY ION-BEAM MIXING

TiN thin films are produced on an iron surface by N+ ion beam mixing. The mechanical measurements show that the N+ ion beam mixing samples have high hardness and good wear resistance. The 5X10(16) N+ cm(-2) ion beam mixing sample has a beautiful golden appearance, and its reflectance curves within the visible range resemble those of pure TiN.
