Just a few words to express our gratitude and admiration to Prof. Francesco Grigoletto, who - as first editor of Biomedical Statistics and Clinical Epidemiology (BMSCE) - was able not only to start a new, multidisciplinary journal, but also to reach excellent levels of interest and quality, and a wide international audience.
