Reclamation of acidic soils treated with industrial sludge

SUMMARY The use of industrial sewage sludge on acidic, infertile soils from Vaucluse (France) required prior knowledge of the interactions between sludge, soil and plants. In order to evaluate the effects of sludge applications on crop production and soil chemical composition, growth medium tests as well as field and pot experiments were conducted over five years. A set of analyses for sludge, soils and sludge-treated soils are presented.
