Preliminary results of pyrocarbon emi-prosthesis in the trapezio-metacarpal joint

The improved knowledge about the trapezio-metacarpal joint and the possibility to use new materials lead to realise new kind of prosthesis. The author presents the preliminary results of 19 not-cemented pyrocarbon emi-prostheses, fixed in the first metacarpal and articulating with the surface of the trapezium
