Supporting inclusive and collaborative postsecondary education for adults with intellectual disabilities

2016
Persons with disabilities face obstacles to education and employment that are both social and systemic. With rising demand for postsecondary degrees and technical skills for hourly and entry-level jobs, access to technology education is crucial. My previous and proposed research explores technology education for adults with intellectual disabilities in the context of 3D modeling and printing. Using the lens of this emergent technology, I have identified potential teaching and learning techniques that can be incorporated into an inclusive technology intervention for individualized instruction design.
