Storm Drainage Overflows

The results are presented of a questionnaire survey of the urban drainage design practices of local government authorities in Melbourne. The results indicate a need for designers to give more attention to the hydraulics of drainage systems, and, in particular, to assess overflows which occur when the capacity of a drain is exceeded. Two tabular computation procedures are presented, in an attempt to satisfy this need.
