Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell s

Molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) is a high temperature fuel cell with operating temperatures around 650 oC. Similar to SOFC, MCFC has advantages of fuel reflexibility and fast reaction kinetice but suffers from mobile and corrosive molten carbonate electrolyte. In this Chapter, the principle, molten carbonate electrolyte and matrix, key cathode and anode materials are introduced. Performance and durability of MCFC are also discussed.
