Analysis of Automotive Radar Interference in Spatial Domain

2021
Mutual interference between automotive radars is a major obstacle currently faced by manufacturers in the widescale deployment of these radars. A thorough understanding of interference behaviour along the signal processing stages of victim radar's receiver is essential to devise robust interference detection and mitigation strategies. This paper aims at investigating the behaviour of various types of FMCW automotive interferences in the spatial domain. An extensive analysis of interference using experimentally verified modelling results, after fast-time Fourier transform and beamforming at the receiver is performed in the presented details.
