A simple electrocardiograph
1993
The teaching of physics to medical students can be enhanced by introducing physiological measurements into the laboratory. A lab session on the design of an electrocardiograph is described. In this students are confronted with the recording of bio-electrical signals. The voltages to be measured have a maximum value of 100 mV, but the smaller fluctuations also carry information and should be detected.
