Creative exploration of local, national and global links
2012
This chapter draws attention to the importance of studying a range of histories at local,
national and global levels. It considers the potential of the locality for developing creative
opportunities for learning history, creative approaches to learning about families and ways
in which children can learn about each others’ histories. It shows how children can learn
to express informed opinions about sensitive, controversial issues. The chapter is supported
by new case studies with references to new research and resources.
