Bleche aus Werkzeugstählen mit isotropen Eigenschaften

1995
Cross-rolled highly alloyed ledeburitic chromium tool steels as well as high speed steels exhibit uniform properties in longitudinal and transverse direction. These isotropic properties apply not only to the dimensional stability during heat treatment but also to the mechanical-technological properties, especially the toughness. Products obtained by conventional rolling methods show a structure clearly oriented in one direction. This means that the properties vary considerably in longitudinal and transverse directions which must be duly considered when determining design and size of tool. From a cross-rolled plate blanks can be cut without consideration of any rolling direction which offers special advantages in terms of economic efficiency regarding to dimensioning, production safety and performance increase
