Rilevamento digitale delle frane: applicazione della scheda IFFI

2007
Field survey is the most important and central step for geological and geomorphological studies and particularly in landslide contest because of fast evolution of phenomena. Details and field survey are very important for landslide studies because they allow to describe the event and evaluate its hazard and risk. In the last years new digital methods for field mapping have been implemented because of growing the digital work mode. New solutions for data management and analysis have been defined and also new strategies for digital data collection have been developed. LINEE (Laboratory of Info-tech. for Earth and Environment of Environmental Dynamic Institute of University of Urbino-Italy) has developed an integrated solution for field mapping, combining a new hardware equipment (Tablet PC, GPS, digital camera) and a mobile GIS software. This new field mapping technique optimizes and integrates the traditional mapping work with a new digital approach, increasing the survey accuracy, saving time and reducing errors connected to digital acquisition activity. This new approach has been applied to landslide survey working according to the methodological approach of Italian IFFI national project (Italian acronym for Landslide Inventory in Italy) using the first level form. The results are highly positive and optimistic because the survey work is optimised and time saving, the data acquisition from different people is comparable, and the solution has transformed the digital mapping simple such as writing on the field map and field book. This new methodology helps to collect and to manage the data. Surveyors can record and georeference information directly in the field and can save time in the digital acquisition of the data. in this way the loss of information is sensibly reduced. This methodology and this equipment offer a new approach to field survey and many applications could be developed in the next few years as the integration of other digital survey devices to the Tablet PC.
