Performance of Adaptive Link Selection with Buffer-Aided Denoise-and-Forward Relays

2018
In this paper, we study a two-way relaying network consisting of two source nodes and one half-duplex denoise-and-forward (DNF) relay node, where the relay node equips a buffer. A buffer-aided relaying scheme is proposed to employ adaptive link selection to improve the network throughput. In the proposed scheme, two cases considering the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of two source-to-relay links are introduced and analysed. Both of the finite and infinite size buffers are investigated. Simulation results show that our proposed buffer-aided scheme can significantly improve the throughput performance with the traditional non-buffer DNF two-way relaying network.
