Study on the Beam Field of Ultrasonic Phased Array Transducers with Multi-layered Interface

The ultrasonic phased array detection technique has been used to study the bonding problem of multi-layered interface.The radiation pattern model of the rectangular transducers and the method of calculating the time delay of focused beam have been established,thus making it possible to control the radiation beam focusing.A simulation study on the characteristics of radiation beam field in multilayered medium has been carried out by using a rectangular 7 MHz ultrasonic phased array transducer.The results from the simulation study showed that the ultrasonic phased array detection technique could be used to detect the de-bonding case of the multi-layered interface structure.
