Determining heat transfer coefficient of wall surface by instrumental variable method

2000
An instrumental variable method was developed to determine heat transfer coefficient of wall surface in this paper. Experimental results shows that the heat transfer coefficient of wall surface estimated from experimental data is very close to that calculated by empirical formula provided in ASHRAE. It indicates that the method is correct and practicable. Using this method, the heat transfer coefficient of wall surface can be obtained only by experimentally measuring input and output data under various air velocities and wind directions.
