El legado de los abuelos agricultores

Service learning is an educational methodology that combines the learning of content, competencies and values in a single activity with the performance of community service tasks. In this sense, the main objective of the project was to connect students of the Degree in Agricultural Engineering of the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieria Agronomica, Alimentaria y de Biosistemas (ETSIAAB) with old people lived in the Mirasierra Nursing Home who had been linked to the agrarian world. The experience has been highly valued by the students, both in terms of the curricular training received, as well as in social and human values, and in the development of competencies. For their part, residents have been able to remember experiences, which improved their memory and mood and helped them get out of the routine that life in the nursery home supposes. Finally, for the teachers who have participated in the project, it has been a very enriching experience, both humanly and personally, encouraging us to continue carrying out this type of project in the future.
