Compact UWB antenna with controllable notched bands based on co-directional CSRR

2016
A compact ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with controllable notched bands is proposed for UWB communication applications. By etching co-directional complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) on the antenna patch, dual notched bands are generated. The center frequencies of the dual notched bands can be tuned independently by changing the effective electrical length of the inner and outer ring of the CSRR, which is achieved by employing two varactor diodes. Furthermore, by replacing the varactor diodes with two electronic switches, the antenna can operate in different working status.
