A modelforthegeostationary electron environment: POLE,from30keVto5.2MeV

2005
In 2003,a modelforthegeostationary electron environment: POLE(Particle ONERA-LANLEnvironment) has beendeveloped atONERA/DESP.Thismodel, basedonthefull rangeof Los AlamosNational Laboratory geostationary satellites, covering theperiod 1976-2001, isvalid from30KeV upto2.5MeV andtakes into account thesolar cycle variation. Overtheperiod 1976topresent, threedifferent detectors were flown: CPA (Charged Particle Analyzer), SOPA(Synchronous OrbitParticle Analyzer) and ESP (Energetic Spectra for Particles). Thefirst twowerestudied todevelop thefirst version ofPOLE (upto2.5MeV).Here,inordertoextend theenergy coverage ofthemodel, weanalyze thedataofthethird detector: ESP,wheretheelectron detection covers therange0.7MeV- 25.8MeV.Thenewversion thusobtained coverenergies from30 keVupto5.2MeV.
