An Aggregate Measurement based Identification Model for Large Scale Photovoltaic Stations and Applications on Real time Platform HYPERSIM

2020
When investigating wide frequency band dynamics of the many converter based photovoltaic (PV) generation systems, the detailed topological connections between PV modules and complicated control and protection system of each individual PV module increase the computational burden dramatically. Admittedly, it is desirable to set up an efficient electromagnetic transient (EMT) model which preserves the same dynamic responses as field measurements. In order to resolve these issues, an aggregate measurement-based identification model for the overall PV station is proposed, where the identified parameters are obtained by the proposed online identification algorithm. The advantages of the proposed model are: (1) the dimension of the overall nodal voltage equation is significantly reduced by the proposed identification model to satisfy the efficiency expectations; (2) it can achieve the same electromagnetic dynamic responses as those of the detailed small time-step EMT model or the field measurements. Simulation results of practical large-scale PV stations have validated the efficacy of the proposed identification model.
