Compact Heat Exchanging Reactor for Diluted VOC Abatement

We made two types of compact catalytic combustors with an internal heat recovery function, which were based on single heat exchanging plate with a folded sheet design. The heat recovery function brought higher temperature rise at the catalyst than expected combustion heat from the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC), and enabled auto-thermal catalytic combustions of ethylene, propylene and toluene as low concentration as ca. 200ppm.
