Trace gas sensing based on Min-IR CW broadly tunable Cr:ZnSe laser

Recent progress in development of broadly tunable Cr:ZnSe lasers for trace gas detection is reported. With an intracavity CaF2 prism, the CW Cr:ZnSe laser was tuned within a total wavelength range of 427 nm from 2164 nm to 2591 nm. And, the applied research about trace gas sensing based on Mid-IR broadly tunable Cr:ZnSe lasers has been discussed in this paper, which indicated that a single-frequency broadly tunable Cr:ZnSe laser is a promising source for the applications on the trace gas sensing.
