Application of the Cini model to the oxygen chemisorption on the TiNi alloy surface in the air at room temperatures

1998
Abstract In this work, the Auger spectroscopy method was applied to study the process of oxygen chemisorption accuring at room temperature on the clean surface of an aqui-atomic TiNi alloy in air under pressure of 3×10 −9  hPa. It was found that chemisorption of oxygen follows the sequence TiO→Ti 2 O 3 →Ti 3 O 5 →TiO 2 which can be described by the Cini model. The relationship between shape of the main spectral line of titanium, i.e. U / V Cini parameters and stechiometric coefficients of the created titanium oxides Ti x O y was found.
