The purpose of this article is to understand the Cheontae Order of Korean Buddhism(大韓佛敎天台宗) in the viewpoint of religions for Lotus-Sutra(法華係 敎團). And for this purpose, this article summarized the features seen in the dharma lineage(法脈), thoughts, and rituals of the Cheontae Order after examining the process of the establishment of religions for Lotus-Sutra. In addition, this article examined the similarities and differences between the Cheontae Order and religions for Lotus-Sutra. I hope this study will contribute to the understanding of the Cheontae Order in the viewpoint of religions for Lotus-Sutra. Specifically, according to Chapter 2, faith in Lotus-Sutra(法 華信仰) became popular with the translation of “Lotus-Sutra” in China and was introduced to the Korean peninsula during the Three Kingdoms period. In the Goryeo Dynasty, faith in Lotus-Sutra was popular in a collective form that can be called the denominational levels, but this form of belief disappeared in the Joseon Dynasty. And during the Japanese colonial period, the faith in Lotus-Sutra continued as before, but as Japanese Buddhist denominations concentrated on overseas missions, the collective form of the faith was reborn in Joseon. Then, after liberation in 1945, Buddhists who had been influenced by Japanese Buddhism began to create denominations in Korea. In Chapter 3, it was revealed that the features of the history, dharma lineage, major thoughts, and rituals of the Cheontae Order are mostly aimed at faith in Lotus-Sutra. These features refer to the Guinsa Community's rebuilding of Cheontae Order, the connection between Zhiyi(智顗)-Uicheon(義天)-Sangwol(上月) and founder(宗祖)-establisher(開創祖)-rebuilder(重創祖) as Josa Masters (祖師), and the Cheontae studies that systematically organized thoughts in Lotus-Sutra(法華思想). In addition, the ritual features mean the practice of belief in the Bodhisattva of Avalokitesvara(觀音 信仰), the continuous recitation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva(觀音呪 誦), and the belief in Josa Master(祖師信仰). According to Chapter 4, there are difference and points of sharing among religions for Lotus-Sutra and between the Chentae Order and them. The Chentae Order shares the intention of realizing thoughts in Lotus-Sutra with them, even if the practice is different. However, considering the ideological differences between thoughts in Lotus-Sutra and Tientai doctirines and the influence of Japanese Buddhism, the Chentae Order has different parts from other religions for Lotus-Sutra. Finally, we can see two aspects of the Cheontae Order in the viewpoint of religions for Lotus-Sutra. Firstly, the Cheontae Order shares the intention of realizing thoughts in Lotus-Sutra with other religions for Lotus-Sutra. This feature has persisted since the entering the quietude of Sangwol in 1974. Next, the Cheontae Order differs from other religions for Lotus-Sutra in the practice for the realization of thoughts in Lotus-Sutra.
