Comparative studies on the digestive enzymes activity in different parts of the alimentary canal in Yellowfin black porgy Sparus latus Houttuyn

2005
The digestive enzymes (Protease, amylase, and lipase)activities of 5 alimentary organs (Hepatopancreas, stomach, foregut, midgut and hingut)in Yellowfin black porgy Sparus latus Houttuyn which weighs 300~400 g were measured. The order of protease activity was as follows:stomachforegutmidguthepatopancreashingut. The protease activity in stomach is much higher than those in other alimentary organs(P0.01),the difference of protease activity between hepatopancreas and hingut was not significant(P0.05).The order of amylase activity was as follows:hepatopancreasstomachmidgutforeguthingut. The amylase activities in the five alimentary organs were relatively high. The order of lipase activity was as follows:foreguhingutstomachhepatopancreasmidgut. The lipase activity in hingut was very low comparatively. The results showed that the stomach, hepatopancreas, and foregut were the main alimentary organs which digest protein, amylum, fat respectively.
