Explosive Post Blast Analysis: A Case Study -

Identification of explosives and its residues from post blast samples is challenging. In most blast cases improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are used. Various analytical techniques are used for the analysis of explosives in pre and post blast samples. An accidental blast took place in the fields of village. Small amount of debris was available for the examination. Complete forensic profile was prepared using different chemical and instrumental methods. Mixture of explosive substances is used as charge in IED. Reconstruction from debris material revealed an unusual type of IED.
