Experiment of Pendimethalin 30% SC on Weeds in Cabbage Field

[Aims] The aim of this study is to determine the control efficacy of pendimethalin 30% SC on weeds,optimal dosage and to investigate the cabbage safety in the winter and spring cabbage field from 2011 to 2012 in south China.[Methods] Using the field efficacy test method.[Results] The results showed that pendimethalin 30% SC could control effectively on grasses weeds(Eleusine indica L.Gaertn,Digitaria sanguinalis L.Scop) and annual broadleaf weeds(Solanum nigrum L.,Amaranthus lividus L.,Portulaca oleracea L.and Chenopodium serotinum L.) with recommended dosage of 630-765 g a.i./ha before the cabbage transplanting.[Conclusions] pendimethalin 30% SC is safety on cabbages within the recommended dose,but higher application concentration led to phytotoxicity.The pendimethalin 30% SC is an ideal herbicide in the cabbage field.
