4′-Dehydroxy-Irenolone. A New Phytoanticipin From the Resistant Musa Selected Hybrid Sh-3481

Abstract A new phenalenone-type phytoanticipin 4′-dehydroxy-irenolone, has been isolated from healthy rhizomes of the Musa selected hybrid resistant cultivar SH-3481. The structure of the new substance was elucidated using spectroscopic data. The chemical shift for all the hydrogen and carbon atoms in the molecule were unambiguously established by mono and bidimensional, homo and heteronuclear NMR experiments.
