Research and Development of an Intelligent Design System for the Hob-Type Cutter

Agricultural hob-type cutter has the characteristics of multiple parameters, high rotation speed, heavy load, and high precision, the design process is complex and the design task is heavy. To solve this problem, an intelligence design system is developed based on knowledge engineering, parametric design, and model reuse technology. The intelligence design system consists of a user interface module, a knowledge base module, a simulation base module, a case base module, a reasoning decision module, a simulation test module, a three-dimensional modeling module, and an engineering drawing module. By making full use of the existing model instances, the parametric design method is used to reconstruct the cutter model under the customized parameters to realize the automation of the design process. Using this intelligence design system, the cutter model and drawings can be automatically generated. Especially, the method of automatic simulation performance tests to optimize design parameters improves the design level and reduces the errors caused by manual reasons. Therefore, it can improve the product development efficiency and market competitiveness of agricultural equipment enterprises.
