Treatment of disseminated infantile histoplasmosis with amphotericin B.

1959
Four cases with disseminated histoplasmosis are reported; three were in children under 12 months of age. All responded gratifyingly to amphotericin B therapy given intravenously. The value of Heiner9s agar-gel technique for histoplasmin precipitin as a diagnostic tool was substantiated. Further therapeutic trial of amphotericin B in disseminated infantile histoplasmosis seems warranted.
