Distributed computer control at the LLNL tandem

Abstract Livermore is developing hardware and software tools to provide automated operation of an FN tandem accelerator. Automated operation is planned for several nuclear analytical techniques including hydrogen depth profiling and accelerator mass spectrometry. The control system utilizes a distributed computer system to provide 16 bit precision in control of accelerator power supplies.
