Model Predictive Control of a Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge DC-DC Converter

2020
A DC-DC converter with current control is widely used in the charging system of electric vehicles and electrochemical processing, and the response speed is an important index to evaluate the converter performance. In this paper, a model predictive control method based on a current mode control (MPC-CMC) is proposed for a phase-shifted full-bridge (PSFB) DC-DC converter to improve the dynamic performance of the converter. Delay compensation and integral compensation are introduced to improve the control accuracy and response speed of the model predictive control. The simulation and experimental results verify that the proposed method can effectively improve the dynamic response speed of the converter and obtain good dynamic performance when the desired output current of the load steps up or down.
