The effect of the changes of m(COD)∶m(SO4 2- ) on the performance of the hybrid anaerobic baffled reactor (HABR) has been investigated ,under the following conditions : hydraulic retention time (HRT) is 24 h ,and tempera - ture 30-40 ℃. The printing and dyeing wastewater containing sulfate from a cotton -woven cloth factory is used as raw water. The results show that when the influent m(COD)∶m(SO4 2- ) is >3,the operation situation of the system is pretty good: both of the removing rates of COD and SO 4 2- are pretty high.
