Performance analysis of Open UPQC using three level diode clamped multilevel inverter

Nowadays power quality has become the most important issue for the industrial and high end customers because of increasing the power quality problems with wide range use of nonlinear loads. The unified power quality conditioner can provides the overall solution for all type of power quality problems. But the recent development of Open UPQC structure can provide the optional use of installing the power converters for the different kind of customers depending upon the severity of power quality issue. This paper presents the implementation of Open UPQC structure with three level diode clamped multilevel inverter for three phase three wire system. The model is implemented in the MATLAB Simulink environment.
