Vocal Function Tests in Dysarthria.

1992
In order to investigate spastic dysarthric speech, we simultaneously recorded air flow, pitch and vocal intensity using a PHONO-LARYNGOGRAPH (RION). This paper correlates the temporal patterns of these three parameters with perceptual impressions. Clear differences were noted between the temporal patterns of normal subjects and those of dysarthric patients. The speech characteristics of dysarthria can be accounted for in terms of the abnormal temporal patterns of these three parameters.
