ATUAÇÃO DO ENFERMEIRO NA VISITA DOMICILIAR PUERPERAL: PERSPECTIVAS SOBRE O PAPEL PROFISSIONAL

The puerperium is an important period for the development of actions of the health team, in the search for greater resources for the woman and her child. In this context, the nurse stands out in the care with the woman in Primary Attention to Health. This study aims at analyzing the role of nurses in puerperal home visits. This is a descriptive exploratory qualitative study conducted in the main municipality in the northern region of the State of Ceara, in 2016, with 10 mothers using individual semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis optimized the processing of information, enhanced by dialectic hermeneutics. Three thematic categories were created: Priority for breastfeeding at home visits; The link between the nurse and postpartum women; Nurses should expand their operations in the puerperal home visits. The home is a powerful space to expand the role of nurses in obstetric care, but their actions should be guided from the perspective of the user and their families.
