Investigation on augmentation of mechanical properties of AA6262 aluminium alloy composite with magnesium oxide and silicon carbide

2021
Abstract In this experimental investigation focused with the augmentation of the mechanical properties of the AA6262 aluminium alloy composite with the combination of the magnesium oxide and Silicon carbide. There are the main composite material is AA6262 aluminium alloy which contains 88 percentage of volume in all composite specimens. The remaining twelve percentage of volume in the composite were created by the combination of the magnesium oxide and silicon carbide with different volume in percentage variation. There are seven different specimens were created. The magnesium oxide percentage increased from 3% to 9% in increasing order and the silicon carbide percentage decreased from 9% to 3% in decreasing order in each specimens. The basic properties like hardness, impact strength, tensile strength and percentage of elongation were measured for the each specimen. The superior qualified specimen is selected for identification of microstructure.
