Modeling and Demonstration of 5–200 GHz photonic oscillations via optically-injected diode lasers

A tunable photonic oscillator with continuous tuning from 5–200 GHz is modeled and realized using period 1 dynamics in an injection-locking system. The measured frequencies match the values predicted based on the injection ratio, optical detuning, and extracted operating parameters of the free-running diode laser.
